As I paired tops with skirts, shorts and slacks for our trip to Mexico, I noticed a recurring theme – nearly every top I selected was white. I honestly can’t tell you how many white tops I own, but I know it is the number one color in my closet. A white top exudes a fresh, clean feeling, enhances a summertime glow and is always a reliable option when I’m not sure what to wear. And I know I’m not alone. For decades, women have turned to white as a timeless choice, including some of my favorite fashion icons like Audrey Hepburn, Lauren Bacall and Katharine Hepburn, who believed a classic white shirt should be in every woman’s closet.
