I love it when I stumble upon a new collar or neckline that re-energizes the look of a traditional top, especially when ruffle or embroidered details are included. Blouses, sweaters, and cardigans with scalloped edges, peter pan collars, victorian-inspired ruffles, mock collars, and V-necklines are a few of my favorites. Dainty eyelet ruffles lining the neck and yoke of this white cotton blouse add a romantic tone when worn alone, and an understated backdrop when slipped under a cardigan, sweater, or large scarf, as seen here. It’s surprising how the subtle addition of neckline details can update an everyday look.
Ruffled Midi Dress
A dramatic ruffled v-neckline creates a flattering form on this midi dress. Wear this dress with tall boots now and sandals when the weather warms up, a perfect year-round staple.
Statement Collar Blouse
A ruffled peterpan collar makes a charming statement to this moody floral top, ready for a pair of jeans and sneakers to complete the look.
Ruffled Collar Mini Dress
This floral mini dress with an understated ruffled collar has me dreaming of warmer weather. Dress it up with heeled sandals or down with canvas sneakers for an early spring look.
