Outfit Details:
Gal Meets Glam Chassity Dress, Kenneth Jay Lane Hoops
If I had to name a few of the details I always keep an eye out for when shopping, the list would look something like this: classic silhouettes, linen staples, feminine florals, anything raffia/wicker, pastels, and seasonally inspired details. It probably comes as no surprise that shopping is one of my favorite pastimes, but in the spring, I enjoy the process of curating my wardrobe more than in any other season. I find ways to wear all of the features on my go-to list throughout the year, but spring feels like the season they fit into best, not to mention, it’s the time when it’s the easiest to find them in stores. I love the opportunity to go all-out with the colors and textures that inspire me most.
This spring, I’m doing more shopping than usual in order to find pieces that fit my growing bump. As you have probably noticed, I’ve been gravitating toward flowy maxis, comfortable jumpsuits, and bold statement earrings (always one of my favorite accessories). Even though I’m currently shopping for a rather unique season of my life, I’m still admiring pieces that won’t work well for my pregnancy right now—after all, I can always send links to my friends with the message “this would look so great on you!” When I noticed that many of my favorite recent finds fall in the under-$150 range, I thought my Gals on a Budget might enjoy seeing the pieces I have my eye on, so consider this my message from me to you. From the sweetest eyelet blouse and a chic linen jumpsuit to a fun striped swimsuit and a two-toned basket bag, here are a few pieces at a great value to consider adding to your spring wardrobe.
Straw Hat
This wide-brim straw hat wins points for both style and sun protection. I never go to the beach without a hat to help shade my skin and hair from the sun’s harmful rays, and l love the simplicity and elegance of this & Other Stories option.
Gal Meets Glam Collection Rue Jumpsuit
Our new Rue jumpsuit is made a light cotton material that makes me feel comfortable, but put-together. Its delicate vine print is one of my favorites. P.S. As one of our most affordable styles, it’s a perfect option for your first GMGC piece, if you haven’t pulled the trigger on any yet!
Raffia Heart Earrings
My affinity for accessories made of natural materials extends far beyond my go-to basket bags, starting with beautiful pairs of earrings. These hearts make a gorgeous statement from daytime to evening, but the raffia keeps them comfortable and lightweight.
Palm Print Kaftan
I brought a bunch of my favorite kaftans to Miami recently and loved wearing them from the pool or beach, straight to lunch with the girls. This palm print option would have been a seamless addition to my suitcase.
Straw Belt
I’m always on the lookout for neutral belts that layer perfectly over dresses. This woven straw one has a round tortoise buckle that adds an extra pop of pattern to any outfit, creating a chic, multi-dimensional look.
Geometric Earrings
Pale blue, raffia, a geometric shape that makes a statement, and an under $30 price tag? These Mango earrings, which remind me of the Rebecca de Ravenel earrings I wore in this post, are a spring accessory must-have.
