I have always loved color. While there are certainly a few I gravitate toward most often, I can honestly say that there is no color I dislike. I constantly find inspiration from the ways colors work together in nature, the ways architects and artists throughout history have used them to tell a story, and the ways they impact my emotions. Color psychology is the fascinating study of how colors affect our moods, and while each individual person inevitably has unique experiences connected to each color, I personally gravitate towards the ones that best represent my mood or feeling in that moment.
Most often you’ll find me in pink, a staple in my wardrobe–not surprising, since my style is undeniably feminine. I love being surrounded by peaceful shades of blue in our Charleston home, and wearing blue helps me take that feeling wherever I go. I’ve been wearing lots of white lately since the new year always feels like a clean, blank slate, filled with opportunities. While I happily cozy up in my beloved cream sweaters throughout the beginning of the cold months, I’m ready for a new burst of inspiration now that it’s mid-way through winter. Reaching for sweaters in blush, red, white, pale blue, and more instantly brightens my day and makes me feel refreshed. If you’re growing weary of your winter wardrobe, try adding a few sweaters in new-to-you colors to your closet from some of my favorite options in a rainbow of colors to be inspired by.
