Ann Taylor Dress c/o, Madewell Denim Jacket, Eugenia Kim Hat, Stubbs & Wooten Loafers
Growing up, I remember Ann Taylor being one of my mom’s favorite stores. I remember sitting in her dressing room and telling her that “she needed that dress as well as the top and oh yes, she couldn’t go home without that skirt” (not much has changed!). Fast forward to my college years, I started shopping at Ann Taylor for some of my first “work wear” pieces. It’s such a neat experience to grow up with a brand and see it evolve and be so in-tune with what I’m looking for at different stages in my adult life. Last spring I found the perfect shirtdress, so much so I bought it in two colors. This past winter I picked up this cropped cream jacket (worn here and here) that’s classic and timeless, a piece to wear forever. And remember this leopard and striped combo?
I think it’s safe to say that Ann Taylor has remained one of my favorite brands over the years, each season I seem to find a key piece that stands out to me. This spring, I couldn’t pass on this pink begonia lace dress– it’s flirty, feminine and an easy piece to style for the day or evening. I wore it last weekend while we were in Napa with a pair of loafers, my denim jacket and a boater hat. I added a light pink ribbon around the waist, which made it feel different to how I was wearing it to dinner that evening (styled with no ribbon, my leather jacket and black heeled sandals).
Like I mentioned in this post, my spring suitcase is almost solely dedicated to dresses mixed with denim jackets and lightweight sweaters. Thomas and I are down in LA for work right now and that’s exactly what I brought with me. If I switch it up this season, I’ll most likely be wearing a pair of floral pants (I love these), a knee length skirt (like this or this) or a top like this paired with skinny jeans.
