One of my favorite things about Charleston is how easy it is to make a quick weekend getaway. In under five hours in the car, we can get to Savannah, Atlanta, Charlotte, Asheville, Raleigh, St. Augustine, or Wilmington, not to mention the countless charming small towns in between. Even though we travel so frequently for work, there’s something magical about throwing a weekender bag in the trunk and hitting the road to a new-to-us destination. There are so many enchanting corners of the country (and the world!), and we don’t want to miss the opportunity to explore a single one of them, even for just a weekend. If you don’t have the time for an extended trip this fall, I’d love to encourage you to find a spot you can visit that’s just a short drive away, and carve out two or three days on your calendar that you can spend away from home.
