My first introduction to smocking and smocked details was in a traditional strapless crop top (also known as a tube top) when I was a teenager. The stretchy, embroidered fit was super popular because it allowed the barely-there top to stay up on it’s own – a cool alternative to throw on over a swimsuit in warm weather.
