Long lashes draw attention to the eyes by enhancing the shape and creating a natural frame. Over the years I’ve experimented with different techniques and products to get the best results for longer, thicker eyelashes, and have found I’m always coming back to these 2 simple steps:
- Apply neuLash eyelash growth serum on a regular basis (I’ve been using it for years).
- Tip? I always make sure my eyes and lashes are clean and makeup-free. When I first started, I applied neuLash across the base of the lashes 1x per day (at night). It took about a month to start seeing results. After two months, I reduced my use to 1x per week (at night).
- Apply 2 layers of one of my favorite mascara – Bobbi Brown Eye Opening mascara and bareMinerals Lash Domination (I like to rotate!).
- Tip? I apply the first layer, then wait a few minutes while applying my other makeup before applying a second layer for thicker results.
- Trick? Instead of pulling the wand straight out, I twist it out. This helps avoid accumulating mascara on the edge of the bottle and adds a more even amount of mascara on the wand.
- Tip? I regularly wipe off the wand and clean-off the top of the mascara bottle to avoid clumping, and replace my mascara every 3-4 months.
- Trick? For maximum results, I apply mascara to my top lashes by moving the wand in a back and forth motion, starting at the base, moving upward to the tips, starting on the inside lashes, working to the outside.
- Trick? To apply mascara easily to my bottom lashes, I hold the wand in a vertical position, moving wand back and forth across the lashes.
It’s important to note that I don’t wear mascara all the time. I like to give my eyelashes a break from makeup on a regular basis, just as I do for my skin. And I make sure to diligently remove mascara after each wear with makeup remover or wipes. Nothing creates brittle, broken eyelashes and prevents them from growing like left-on mascara.
