It’s crazy to think that 5 years ago today, I posted my first blogpost on Gal Meets Glam. Many things have changed since then, though I’m glad that some haven’t. I started my blog as a creative outlet where I could share and discuss my fashion finds and obsessions. I pushed myself to post often – at least 5 times a week (which ended up being one of my best decisions). Ultimately, the hard work and dedication paid off as I landed my first internship in college and then my first full-time job after college.

Thomas and I continued to seek new ways to improve Gal Meets Glam in order to create a fun and relatable platform, while experiencing the world and challenging ourselves at the same time. Eventually, Gal Meets Glam’s following began increasing steadily, which made me even more enthusiastic about the direction we were taking, and even more determined to offer the best, most aesthetically pleasing content possible.

Over the past 5 years, there’s been dramatic changes in the way we are able to present our content. What I love about new platforms such as Snapchat and Instagram (and even our email newsletters) is that they offer additional ways for us to connect with readers while still allowing us to remain dedicated to our original (and near and dear to my heart) juliaberolz.wpengine.com as well.

Reflecting back on the last 5 years, there are so many favorite moments, trips and blogposts that instantly come to mind. However, I’m going to narrow it down to my top 5 favorites:

We’ve met some of our best friends through blogging and feel privileged that we are able to call this our full time job. We launched our first products last October as a collaboration with BaubleBar. Most importantly, Thomas and I both feel we are creating something that we are highly passionate about, and love spending time doing. It doesn’t hurt that we enjoy working together, and thanks to GMG and to our readers, we can. Through the process of creating and growing Gal Meets Glam, I’ve learned a great deal about myself as well. I’ve learned to be more confident, to speak-up and stand up for what I believe in, and that there’s no substitute for intelligent, thoughtful, creative and consistent hard work.

So what does the future hold for Gal Meets Glam? Our goal is to always be a source of  fashion, lifestyle and travel inspiration through carefully crafted content with the goal of empowering women to live more fulfilling, happy and meaningful lives. We always want to stay at the forefront of bringing information to our readers in fresh, new ways. That’s why we launched GMG Now and why we are always seeking better ways to connect to our readers on a more personal, authentic level. We are dedicated to bringing you products that are relatable, attainable, and usable in a beautiful, organic and visionary way that truly inspires you to be the best you can be. We have some big projects that have been in the works for a long time and will finally be launched in the next year or two that we can’t wait to share!
