Wearing white styles into fall is easy in the South when the weather’s still warm outside. But as temperatures dip, transitioning white pieces can become a bit more challenging, especially on a budget. I brought several white styles on our recent trip to NYC, adding black and brown accents to counter the summertime vibe. Even after Labor Day passes, I’m not afraid to consider donning a white color scheme.
I’ve mentioned before that white denim is one of my key year-round essentials. Another is a white silk or satin tank, which slips easily under a cardigan or blazer, or even an itchy sweater. Look for new variations of the traditional white blouse. Pair a classic white dress or skirt with leopard flats, suede loafers, tweed mules or leather booties. Update white clothing with a leather belt, suede or plaid jacket, scarf or cardigan in rich fall hues like burgundy, green, yellow, brown, or camel to set an autumn tone. Add cream or ivory for a soft, romantic, vintage vibe. For more ways to style whites for fall, check-out my budget-friendly finds below.
