One of the biggest reasons we moved to Charleston was the outdoor-focused culture–after all, soaking in the sunshine and breathing in fresh air never fails to make me feel rejuvenated and peaceful. The Lowcountry landscape, Spanish moss-covered trees, and salty ocean air weāre surrounded by beg to be enjoyed outside as often as possible, and whenever weāre home, weāre all too happy to oblige! Thatās why even in winter, I try my best to get outside and enjoy some of my favorite activities, like walking around our neighborhood, bike riding, and going to the beach. Thankfully, Charleston winters are incredibly mild, but they still call for a carefully planned outfit to ensure I can fully enjoy my time outdoors without getting too chilly. The pieces Iāve rounded up here include both the tried-and-true favorites Iāve relied on for years, as well as a few new styles that would be perfect for casual outdoor adventures this winter. As always, the key to staying cozy anywhere is layering–if you live in a colder climate, add a coat and as many accessories (beanies, gloves, scarves, etc.) as you need to these pieces to keep you warm.
