A change in season brings small changes to my daytime makeup routine. I try to take it down a notch, to a very basic level to create a ‘barely there’ natural glow. I still add a little extra for when it’s called for, but to save time while giving my skin a break, I prefer to keep it super simple. It always starts with what I apply underneath it all, which sets the foundation for a perfect palette, no matter how much makeup I’m actually wearing. Then it’s just a few shorts steps (literally under 5 minutes) before I’m ready to head out the door. Here is a list of my ‘barely there’ makeup basics:
RMS Beauty Beauty Oil to smooth fine lines and create the perfect palette for a light cover and dusting of blush or sheer bronzer for a super natural glow.
RMS Beauty Un Cover-Up to cover my dark circles and small imperfections in a subtle quick and easy way. I also use it on my eye lids just a bit instead of shadow for a quick way to even-out tone.
Warmth bareMinerals All-Over Face Color lightly dusted on my cheekbones, across my forward and chin for a soft, warm glow.
RMS Lip2Cheek Lip & Cheek Color only if I have time. Added to the apples of my cheeks for a more complete made-up look and always for evenings out.
Bobbi Brown Eye Opening Mascara though I may go without for a super casual look giving my eyelashes a much needed break, and time to breathe and grow. If I do decide to wear mascara, I’ll apply one, maybe two layers for day. Then an extra layer if I’m going out for the evening.
Fresh Lip Stain in Rose or Petal to condition and hydrate my lips while adding a soft, rosy, natural finish.
SuperGoop! Setting Mist Sunscreen Broadband SPF 50 to add an extra layer of protection while controlling shine as I spend more time outdoors. So easy to use – just close eyes and give a quick spray. Feels wonderful, is non-sticky and quick drying.
