Summertime – those golden sun-drenched days that seem to stretch on endlessly, the season we wish could linger just a bit longer. This year, we packed our bags and headed to Europe, treating ourselves to a delectable three-week getaway. The first week we soaked up the sun-kissed charm of Portugal, followed by a captivating two weeks in France – split evenly between the rustic beauty of Provence and the dazzling allure of Paris.
There’s something special about Provence that leaves us longing for more. Our hearts leaped at the thought of revisiting this gem. This time around, we brought along two extra-special travel companions – our girls, who added an extra layer of joy to our adventures. We spent our mornings wandering around quaint Luberon villages, each one more charming than the last. In contrast, afternoons and evenings melted away back at the house we rented, shared with friends, a perfect blend of discovery and sweet downtime.
One place that managed to charm us all over again was Gordes, a postcard-perfect hilltop village. It’s no wonder tourists adore this place, it’s everything you imagine when you dream of Provence. It even houses a petite Ladurée, tucked away just as you pull into town, where the aroma of their legendary macarons fills the air. We strolled around, popping into quaint shops here and there, culminating our visit with a delightful lunch at the enchanting L’Orangerie at Airelles. The memories we made are as rich and sweet as a warm, buttery croissant on a breezy Provence morning!
