Gal Meets Glam Two-Piece (more sizes here and here), Lizzie Fortunato Bag, Bottega Veneta Sandals (old, similar here and here)
After our Scout two-piece set was a bestseller from the May Gal Meets Glam Collection, I was so excited to launch four brand new two-piece sets for June! Surprisingly, they have been some of my favorite outfits to wear during pregnancy (which I never thought I’d actually be able to wear this far into my pregnancy!), so I have been enjoying them just as much as you are. It’s impossible for me to choose a favorite, but I will admit that the India set has been one of my most-worn recently. From breezy London, to hot and humid Charleston, to cool California, I’ve been gravitating toward its crisp white shade, tortoise buttons, and breathable cotton fabric (with a bit of stretch to it) again and again.
The first time I wore this set was for an afternoon in London, where we wrapped up our babymoon with a stop to see our friends there and got to meet our goddaughter, Lily, for the first time in person. She’s the most precious, beautiful, relaxed baby I’ve ever met and I can’t wait for our little gal to meet her later this year! On one especially beautiful day, we carried on our tradition of going on a picnic together and headed out to a quiet spot tucked away in Hyde Park (Rose knows all the best spots!). That morning, we stopped by Daylesford and picked up some fresh fruit, bread, and other snacks, and grabbed some salads and other nibbles at Ottolenghi to bring along with us. I love these three so much and there is never a shortage of laughing until we cry when with them. We can hardly wait to bring Baby B back next year for a picnic play date.
I wasn’t expecting to be able to wear skirts this far into pregnancy, but especially since this one is full and has some stretch in the cotton, it’s actually very easy to style pulled over my bump. I opted to go up a size for extra comfort in both this set and the Stevie set, seen here. Whether you’re pregnant or not, one of the best things about these two-piece sets is that they can serve as the foundation for countless other outfits. Along with wearing the India set pieces together, I’ve also put a more casual spin on the skirt by pairing it with a white tee and sneakers for a day in the office and with a striped tee and knit sweater for the US Open. The classic shape and button details make both the top and skirt classic pieces that can mix and match with anything in your closet. I’m eager to try styling the top with other pieces as well, like these rose-colored shorts, this striped midi skirt, or these yellow striped shorts.
If you love this look, don’t miss our other two-piece sets, available now from Gal Meets Glam Collection. From the block-print Mila, to the toile Matilda, to the June linen shorts set, there’s something for everyone!
