As my pregnancy progresses, I’m gravitating more and more toward clothes that keep me extra comfortable. I absolutely love being pregnant and am having so much fun dressing my bump, but there’s no denying that there are some uncomfortable moments in this journey. For example, I’ve been dealing with back pain since early in pregnancy. Doing yoga as often as I can has definitely helped, but some days (especially days when I’m flying or spending a lot of time on my feet) are still rougher than others. When I come home feeling especially stiff or sore, the first thing I do is change into something soft and comfy. I’ve always loved elegant loungewear, but especially now that I’ve been reaching for things like drapey tees and relaxed pants almost every evening, this category has become an even more important part of my wardrobe. I found a few pieces by Xirena at Hampden in Charleston and stocked up on a few pairs of the pants (I’m wearing a small), as I know I’ll wear them post-baby too. They’re a lightweight cotton and feel comfy enough to sleep in!

Even though I want to feel as comfortable as possible as the day winds down, it’s still important to me to feel polished and put-together. We love taking walks around our neighborhood in the evening, and often jump back online to get more work done afterward, so I’m not quite ready to go straight for my pajamas at 6pm (though I have occasionally been known to do just that). I already have a great collection of winter loungewear, but lately, I have been stocking up on breezy cotton and linen pieces that are perfect for these warmer months and that fit my growing bump. Thankfully, there are plenty of options out there that work beautifully for a bump, but aren’t maternity, so I’ll still be able to wear them next summer when I’m lounging with our little lady!

Thomas shot all of these pictures on film on my first Mother’s Day a few weeks back and I will always cherish them. We spent the day lounging around with a homemade breakfast, beach walk, and rainy afternoon indoors at home.

Some of my favorite loungewear pieces effortlessly double as vacation wear. I wore a similar Xirena top to this and Xirena pants to the beach, while this loose linen dress will be perfect for breakfast by the pool on our babymoon. Relax at your hotel in this stretchy jumpsuit, or dress it up with espadrilles and a jacket for a day of exploring. Whether you’re planning outfits for summer travels or just need something comfy to nest in (both for me!), take a look at the loungewear pieces I’m loving right now below.

Cotton Jumpsuit

Marine Layer, a new-to-me brand, makes some of the softest cotton around. This jumpsuit is an easy-to-throw-on piece for lounging around the house or running errands.

Xirena Pants

I found these pants at Hampden Clothing, one of my favorite boutiques, and ended up buying them in every color. They are so light and breezy—perfect for both Charleston temperatures and my bump (though they are not technically maternity).
