Outfit Details:
Everlane Puffer, Vince Sweater, Everlane Jeans, Aquazzura x de Gournay Loafers, Chanel Bag
After a few weeks of frequent dressing up, I often find myself gravitating toward minimal makeup, easy hairstyles, and comfortable, casual pieces during the first few days of the new year. Trust me, I’ll be back in dresses again in no time (our Gal Meets Glam Collection January styles launch on the 16th and are gorgeous!), but for a week or two after the holidays, you’ll usually find me in something like the outfit pictured here. It doesn’t hurt that comfy items make such wonderful gifts, so I usually have a new piece or two that I’m anxious to wear! My very favorite gifts, both to give and receive, are the ones that make the recipient feel known and loved, and this Christmas, Thomas’ grandmother hit it out of the park when she chose this blush pink puffer jacket for me.
I’ve realized time and time again that puffer jackets with a slim silhouette like this one prove endlessly versatile–I’ll throw them on over workout gear to head to or from the gym, or style it with a sweater and my favorite jeans for the perfect, low-key weekend look. I know I’ll get tons of use out of this jacket in Charleston especially, where our winters tend to be very mild, but it’s also a conveniently lightweight piece to pack on trips we have coming up this spring. One of my favorite features of this jacket in particular is the mock neck collar that complements so many different layers, from turtlenecks, to crewneck shirts, to button downs, to hooded sweatshirts. To add a little extra warmth, I wore it here over one of my current favorite cashmere sweaters, this cozy v-neck from Vince. I usually prefer crewneck sweaters, but couldn’t resist the dusty rose color, slightly voluminous sleeves, and elegant ribbing of this one. Like all my go-to sweaters, it can be dressed up or down with ease, always providing warmth and striking the perfect balance between polished and cozy.
