Q&A Day Vol. 2

Reader Question

What do you recommend wearing with GMG dresses now and when it gets colder? – Deanna M.

I tried to keep the changing weather and varying temperatures across the country (and the world!) this time of year at the forefront of my mind when designing the September Gal Meets Glam Collection. You may notice the fabrics are a little heavier and more substantial than those in past collections, so in some locations, you should be able to wear them on their own for quite a while (especially the long-sleeve styles like Chloe, Jessie, and more).

As the temperatures drop, there are lots of ways I’m looking forward to layering dresses from the Collection. Here are a few initial ideas:

-Wear a long-sleeve white button-down under the Tinsley dress. Bring the matching Tinsley jacket along to wear if you need an additional layer.

-Throw a classic trench on over the Natalie dress and wear it with loafers.

-Pair suede over-the-knee boots and a camel coat with the Chloe dress.

-Layer a cashmere crewneck sweater over the Celeste dress and wear black tights underneath. Pair it with black flats during the day or black heels for the evening.

-Keep an eye out for my Daily Looks throughout the season for inspiration, too–I’ll be experimenting with layering these dresses alongside you!

Reader Question

As fall approaches, do you have any suggestions for light jackets to use for layering? I would love your input on something that could be added on top of outfits whenever it gets chilly in the evenings! – Lauren B.

I can’t possibly answer this question without recommending our brand new Gal Meets Glam Collection jackets! These vintage-inspired tweed beauties (plus two coordinating skirts) are the first non-dress pieces we’ve launched and I am over the moon with excitement to finally see them on all of you. Aside from our first foray into jackets, I love to wear blazers and trench coats in the fall. Both keep me comfortable during those first crisp, chilly days, but they’re not too bulky to drape over my shoulders or carry if the weather gradually warms up.
