The change of the season always makes me want to do a refresh. A refresh on our home, what I’m wearing and especially the beauty products that I use. I’m pretty simple when it comes to makeup, I would say that my skincare routine takes more time and patience than my makeup routine does. But there’s something about the Fall season that makes me want to explore a little more, especially with colors. I think it’s because the seasonal colors are always so romantic and dreamy, in warm neutral hues and deeper shades of plum and navy. Beyond just makeup and skincare, I wanted to share all of the beauty products (old and new) that I’m using this Fall.
Beauty Products:
Image 1. Chanel Lip Stain in “Soft Rose” / Image 2. Laura Mercier Eyeshadow Palette, Bobbi Brown Eyeshadow in “Metallic Quartz”, Bobbi Brown Blush in “Tawny”
Image 1- You’ve probably seen me wearing this color on my lips recently, like here. Instead of reaching for my typical red lipstick, I’ve been drawn to this darker mauve color that feels like it’s in the same family as my favorite everyday lip color (this in “petal”)
Image 2- It’s very rare that I wear eyeshadow. I honestly can’t think of the last time I did (besides dusting the inside of my eye with a brightening shadow, like this Bobbi Brown Eyeshadow in “Metallic Quartz”). But thisLaura Mercier Eyeshadow Palette is so gorgeous that it actually makes me want to wear eyeshadow. I also love that it comes with a few lighter, neutral shades that are great base colors to wear on the regular. And that deep purple color is going to look incredible when used as a liner on the top lid. I’m also refreshing my blush with Bobbi Brown Blush in “Tawny”. It’s a deeper, softer pink than the one I’ve been using, which feels more seasonally appropriate.
Image 3. Essie Nail Polish “In Stitches”
Image 3- I’m terrible at keeping up my nails, but I’ve been somewhat good recently, so I hope that continues! When my nails start to get long and healthy, it makes me want to have the perfect manicure at all times. To be honest, I like getting manicures and pedicures because the end result is nice, but sometimes they take so much time that I get too antsy and can’t be bothered. Since we’re traveling a lot, I thought it would be helpful to have an official go-to color to wear. That way if it chips or peels while we’re away, I can touch up on my own. Essie’s “In Stitches” is my color of choice and I love the dusty rose color for Fall.
Beauty Products:
Image 4: First Aid Beauty 5 in 1 Face Cream, Drunk Elephant Babyfacial, Fresh Umbrian Clay Mask / Image 5: Diptyque 34 Perfume
Image 4- I’ve been using First Aid Beauty for years and have had this face cream in my arsenal for quite some time. It’s a great all-over daily moisturizer that’s light and works for a variety of skin types. Drunk Elephant is another brand that I discovered when perusing Sephora last Fall and was initially drawn to their adorable packaging. Good branding aside, their products are really wonderful. This “Babyfacial” is meant for giving your skin a total refresh, which is exactly what I want this time of year. And lastly, Fresh’s Umbrian Clay Masks is one of our favorites (and my our, I mean that Thomas and I both use it!). It’s much more milder than other’s that I have, but is still works as a really good deep cleanser.
Image 5- Diptyque 34 Perfume is my newest, most favorite scent to wear. I picked it up when I was in SF a few months ago and have been wearing it weekly since. Unlike some of the floral scents I have, this one is more like a men’s cologne- a warm, more masculine smell with notes of blackcurrant and cardamom.
Beauty Products:
Image 6: Bite Beauty Lipsticks in “Beetroot” & “Jam” / Image 7: Living Proof “Hairspray”
Image 6- Bite always has the prettiest darker hued lipsticks for Fall. I’m excited to wear both this “Beetroot” and “Jam” colors more into the season.
Image 7- If you’ve been searching for the perfect hairspray, I found it. I bought this Living Proof “Hairspray” for the first time in a travel size while we were on a trip recently and was obsessed. When I got home, I stocked up on the full-size and got a few more minis for back-up when traveling. It has a really great hold to it, while not leaving your hair sticky or crunchy (my biggest pet peeve).
