My inbox has been brimming with wedding questions lately–everything from the best Gal Meets Glam Collection dresses for bridesmaids, to what to wear in engagement sessions, and more. I’ll be covering all of the most frequently asked questions over the coming weeks, but first and foremost, I wanted to touch on a subject that’s a bit more time-sensitive: winter weddings. January through March are some of the least popular months to get married in across most of the United States, but since off-season wedding dates can mean discounted rates for venues and vendors alike, most of us probably have at least a wedding or two coming up on our calendars. If so, and you’re not sure what to wear to a winter wedding once you’ve tucked your festive red and sparkly party dresses away after the holidays, this post is for you! Below, find my top five Gal Meets Glam Collection options for winter wedding guests.

Cosette

When I was shown this retro-inspired fabric, I immediately knew I wanted to turn it into a chic, yet fun cocktail dress. Inspired by the mod feel of the print, we dreamed up Cosette, a fabulous square-neck style with a full skirt. The small scale of the pattern looks subtle from a distance, but it grows more captivating the closer you get. Pair it with simple accessories like a slingback pump and vintage (or vintage-inspired) clutch to attend a wedding that calls for cocktail attire.

Zelda

Given the popularity of blush as a bridesmaid dress color, I tend to steer clear of wearing it when I attend a wedding. Zelda is the exception–thanks to a deeper pink hue and a sprinkling of pink velvet polka dots covering every layer of flowy fabric, no one could ever mistake you for a bridesmaid in this dress. All that’s needed is a neutral heel and clutch. Feminine, whimsical, and romantic, this is exactly the type of dress that will draw compliments from everyone in attendance, from the bride’s grandmother to the flower girl alike!

Vienna

I love the floral prints we included in our winter line–in jewel tones and dark neutrals, they’re a fresh and unexpected, but still seasonally appropriate, choice for the season (not to mention, a fabulous option for wedding guests). Our Vienna dress has a silky finish and midi length that create a sophisticated, elegant feel, especially when paired with an ankle tie pump. Reach for it when you’re headed to an event with a semi-formal or dressy casual dress code.

Lorraine

For a daytime or more casual celebration, the Lorraine dress hits all of my must-haves: a classic silhouette, an understated print, and a full skirt that makes any dance floor more fun. I’m continually inspired by dresses women in the 50s wore for special occasions, and this style feels like it could be one of them (but with a shorter hemline for a modern twist). Slip on these heels with pearls and loose curls to finish this wedding guest look with just the right balance of pretty and polished.

Lizzie

Besides the ceremony (I always tear up!), my favorite thing about weddings is the flowers. Inspired by that love, I think our long-sleeved Lizzie dress would look gorgeous dressed up for a wedding! Draw attention to the unique cinched front of this style by twisting your hair into a loose side pony or braid, or romantic updo (this is one of my favorites), and adding a fabulous pair of chandelier or drop earrings (like these or these).
