I absolutely adore pairing heels and pumps with my outfits to add a bit of glam, added height and the illusion of longer legs. But as far as comfort and day-to-day wearability go, ballet flats are definitely my shoe of choice. I’ve acquired quite a collection in an assortment of colors and patterns to go with just about anything. My most coveted pairs are my Chanel ballet flats shown in this, this, and this GMG post (these and these are similar, but at a lower price). Coming in a close second are my Chloe flats, seen here, and here on GMG (similar style here).
When I travel, I make sure to pack at least two pairs of ballet flats, and will sometimes take a pair in my purse if I can, just in case I need to slip on something more comfortable or when I need to switch out my tennies to dress-up my look. Ballet flats are perfect for work (a colorful pair of patent leather ballet flats can add interest to a simple office outfit), and look as good with slacks and a button down as they do with a skirt and silk blouse. They’re perfect to wear in cold weather with tights or a fun pair of socks, and easy to take care of – just gently wipe down with a soft cloth to keep them clean and in good condition.
