I can hardly believe we’ve reached the final month of the year. We’re in full holiday mode—at home and at work—trying to make the season feel as special as possible for the girls. I love Christmas, and I especially love recreating the kind of whimsical moments I remember from my own childhood.
Most of what I’m eyeing and buying this month are gifts. Gifting is one of my love languages, and I take such joy in tracking down special pieces that feel truly suited to each person on my list. There’s nothing I love more than watching the season unfold through those small, thoughtful gestures, many of which I’m sharing throughout this month’s Forecast.
What We’re Doing
-
We’re kicking off December with a trip to NYC with the girls. On the itinerary: The Nutcracker, a visit to the American Girl store, ice skating, and as many festive city moments as we can pack in.
-
My third collection with Jennifer Behr launches tomorrow at 10am. It’s our first holiday collection, filled with rich jewel tones, tassels, satin, and a mix of stones. This necklace and this one are two of my stand-out favorites!
-
With snow in the forecast, I ordered a few last-minute waterproof pieces for the girls (last year we learned the hard way). I got them these coats, these gloves, and these boots.
-
I’m joining a friend’s table at the American Museum of Natural History Gala in NYC this week. I’m torn between this pink dress and this red dress and may make a game-time decision (the red one is on sale).
-
Our tree is up and fully decorated, along with more of our favorite holiday pieces. We have a faux tree from Balsam Hill, layered with ornaments that were passed down or collected over the years. I wrote this Substack post sharing some of my favorite places to shop for holiday decorations.
-
Christmas will be cozy at home with my family, and I’m looking forward to slower days with the girls. I’ve already bought a handful of crafts to do together, including these gem gingerbread houses, these ornament-making kits, and this life-size gingerbread house that the girls played in all winter break last year.
-
We’re also starting to map out our travels for 2026, which feels both far away and right around the corner.
What I’m Wearing
-
This Giuliva Heritage red coat feels perfectly suited to the season.
-
This &Daughter Fair Isle sweater is about to be on heavy rotation this month.
-
These burgundy ballet flats have been pairing seamlessly with most of my rich, moody tones this fall.
-
This GWYN (previously Goop Label) top, skirt, and coat are so, so chic together.
-
These Roger Vivier leopard pumps add just the right amount of drama.
-
I picked up this leopard Gigi Burris box hat to wear through winter and can’t wait to style it in NYC.
What I’m Buying
-
I recently bought this Leo Season coat, and I have my fingers crossed it arrives in time for our trip.
-
Kensington Paperie has been my favorite wrapping discovery this year. I bought these tassel tags and several of their wrapping papers, including this marble print and this tortoise trellis print.
-
I bought the girls special dresses from Emilia Wickstead to wear to The Nutcracker in NYC. I love dressing up for a show.
-
Goldie is obsessed with teddy bears, so I got her these Ralph Lauren pajamas, and a coordinating pair for myself.
-
One thing we didn’t have was a proper set of steak knives, so for Thomas’s Christmas gift I found this beautiful multicolor set from Florentine Kitchen Knives.
-
I’m restocking my favorite Chanel mascara.
-
I pre-ordered this pink Helsa top and skirt. I can’t get enough of the draped silhouette.
-
I also ordered these gold tassels to tie onto this year’s gifts.
What I’m Eyeing
-
Uncommon Ancestor – I’ve been eyeing these stools I found on Abask, and recently saw that they launched these embroidered jewelry trays. They’re currently sold out, but it looks like you can email to custom order. They would make such a beautiful gift.
-
I recently bought some vintage silver pieces from Pouf Copenhagen, and now I’m eyeing these tassel silver serving sets.
-
I’m very into this magenta shade right now and love this organza Kallmeyer skirt, which I’d pair with this Etro shirt.
-
I’m having a moment with tiger prints. A few pieces currently on my radar:
-
This Miu Miu embroidered cardigan is on my wishlist.
-
This Pucci gold dress is what I’m thinking of wearing for Christmas.
-
I also love this collaboration between Loretta Caponi and Cabana Magazine.
-
And finally, these vintage Van Cleef earrings that are on sale have completely taken over my thoughts.
