September Forecast

September is already looking to be a whirlwind of a month! We’ve had a handful of things happen that made us pivot for most of August. However, most of September has been planned out of months, so we’ve been expecting much of this big push. Right now we have about 10 different things happening with our home, packed kids schedules, a whole lot of travel and two collaborations coming together! Grateful and overwhelmed are coexisting permanently in my life right now. Here’s a look at my month again…

What We’re Doing

  • We are starting the month with a short but relaxing long weekend to Blackberry Mountain with some friends.
  • We’re going to fashion week! It’s been years since I’ve attended any of the fashion weeks and I am invigorated with excitement. I have a deep appreciation for the runway shows– getting to view the collections up close, seeing the vision behind the most creative minds who inspire what we wear, what we buy and how we define our style for the seasons ahead. I’m thrilled to share as much as I can! I’ll be attending NYFW and Paris Fashion Week at the end of the month.
  • I love seeing all of the fall collections come out. I’ve been saving pieces that have caught my eye since the fall/winter runways shows and recently shared my fall moodboard here on Trade Offs.
  • I somehow missed the memo years ago about the Throne of Glass series and am just now reading them. I finished Crown of Midnight last month and am now starting Heir of Fire.
  • I’ve been back in the gym last month weight lifting again after taking most of the summer off. It feels good to have sore muscles again!
  • We have two collections we’re shooting in Charleston this month– more sneak peeks coming in our private chat on Substack (we’ll also be posting our September ‘Ask Us Anything’ there, too).

What I’m Wearing

  • This purple shirt has been on repeat, as well as the skirt. See daily looks here, and here.
  • A bag that’s under $600, beautifully made, and I’ve been reaching for over and over. Vanessa Bruno knocked it out of the park with this suede fringe shoulder bag.
  • Not outdoors, but this sweater has been my go-to grab for that air conditioning chill.
  • This Ulla Johnson set (top & shorts) is so good irl.
  • I wear this grey tee all the time. It’s on the pricier side for a simple t-shirt, so I found a few good alternatives if you’re on the hunt. This one is half the price and has the same heathered-grey texture (also a brand I’m a big fan of), and this one is half the price of that!
  • I bought this Toteme printed scarf last year (worn here) and it’s back in stock! I plan on wearing it with a white tee and jeans for this in-between weather.
  • I’ll be re-wearing my favorite High Sport pants in purple and red. Sadly the purple is sold out, but Boden just came out with pants in a similar grape shade and they’re under $130.
  • I am praying for a dip in temperature so I can pull out these fringe jeans, even for just a morning!
  • I really love the most recent Staud collection and sat with it for a bit before impulse buying too many things. I ended up narrowing it down to this top, which I’m already styling a handful of ways in my head for different events this month.
  • These purple balloon pants are under $50 and one of my favorite Zara finds.
  • I really wanted this Chanel pullover that I had saved from the runway but opted for this very similar one for under $200.
