Happy 2026! The shift into a new year always feels momentous on paper, and then January 1 arrives and looks a lot like the day before. I woke up a bit underwhelmed, as if I expected the calendar to do more heavy lifting. Of course, it doesn’t. Real change tends to be quieter than a countdown.
Still, looking back at January 1, 2025 compared to January 1, 2026, the difference is undeniable. So much has moved forward, gradually and deliberately. They take consistency, care, and a willingness to keep showing up even when the progress is subtle.
This year, we have a lot we’re excited to build, with a clear focus on this community. We’re not interested in simply doing more. We’re far more focused on doing better, and making sure what we share genuinely adds something to your day, your closet, your home, your thinking. Over the past few months, we’ve sharpened our point of view: why we share, what we share, and what we hope it offers you. Whether it’s the blog, Substack, the paid subscriber chat and posts, our newsletters, or Instagram, the goal is for it to feel worth your time: thoughtful, useful, and occasionally surprising in the best way.
With that, here’s what’s happening this month, along with what I’m wearing, buying, and eyeing.
What We’re Doing
- We’re hosting our first-ever style challenge in the paid Subscriber chat. It’s intentionally simple, but the prompts are designed to spark fresh ideas and make getting dressed feel interesting again. Join in if you want a smart reset for the month.
- It’s Goldie’s birthday month, and I genuinely can’t wrap my head around the fact that she’s turning four. She’s stepping into full little-girl territory with strong opinions and a sweet confidence, and I’m loving every bit of it. She requested a princess tea party, so a princess tea party it is.
- My siblings will all be together for the first time in a while, and I’m counting the days.
- Thomas and I are heading to Palm Heights later this month for a quick, kid-free getaway. This Grand Cayman hotel has been on our list for a while, and after a friend’s rave review, we finally booked it. I’m excited for warm air, long swims, and a little uninterrupted conversation.
- I’m going on a work retreat with a group of women at the end of the month. The last one was clarifying and energizing, so I’m looking forward to stepping away from the day-to-day and getting back into that kind of exchange, even if it’s for 48 hours.
- I really want to go see Marty Supreme.
What I’m Wearing
- A very good layering piece.
- Thomas bought me this bag for Christmas, and I keep reaching for it for evenings out.
- If you don’t own AYR jeans, start here in “stoked”.
- If you get hooked (you will), then add these in “yada yada” (size down if you like a more snug fit).
- This oxford shirt has become a repeat-wear staple.
- These tiger print Alaïa flats have been on steady rotation and are coming right along into January.
- I’m planning to style this new chartreuse skirt a few different ways this month (with knits, crisp shirting, and a sharper jacket).
- This fern green cardigan adds a pop in January gloom.
- My favorite Dior sunglasses for gray days.
- These chartreuse socks add the perfect pop with ballet flats and loafers.
What I’m Buying
- These Roger Vivier slingbacks that feel like a jewel box for your feet.
- I’ve ordered just a few things for Palm Heights. No surprise, but color is absolutely leading the forecast.
–Rosie Assoulin duster jacket (even better in person). I plan to wear it with loose pants, and also tied as a top.
–This striped jacket – to be worn as a top or coverup.
–Bahia Maria dress, coming with me.
–Dries pants I love. They’re strong on their own with a simple tank.
–Taller Marmo asymmetric fringed satin kaftan I am obsessed with.
-I collect these Pucci mini skirts. - I pre-ordered this jacket (same print as the bag) and already know it’s going to become a fixation.
- Donni taffeta pants are back in stock. I ordered “blossom” as a bridge into spring (I’ll layer until then).
- Free People jacket that gives a little Valentino energy, but under $250.
- For the girls: J.Crew Kids jeans I bought both of them.
- I won’t blame Emily in Paris entirely, but I’m drawn to the Fendi Baguettes in unexpected colors and playful details. A few I’m looking at:
What I’m Eyeing
- I’m most excited to see Matthieu Blazy’s Chanel collections roll out. Currently on my wishlist:
- Turquoise faux croc tote
- Leopard jacket (not until the Spring)
- The new slingbacks
- The new Charvet shirts
- Mark Davis jewelry– I love the color and sculptural feel of his bangles.
- Thalita Hamaoui art stopped me mid-scroll.
- A coat that reads very Chanel-adjacent (still expensive, but not $10k).
- I saved almost every room in this home, and now I’m considering animal print for a room we’ll work on this year:
- I’ve never been a nail art person, but I am into this.
I love the french brand, Molli, and this new set (top & skirt) is very me.
