November is one of my favorite months. The air finally feels crisp and cool, the days are shorter, and everything starts to take on that quiet, cozy mood I look forward to all year. It’s a time that naturally invites slower mornings, more time at home, and meaningful gatherings with friends and family. It’s also the start of what I think of as the nesting season— setting the table, choosing gifts, lighting candles, and making our house feel warm and festive.
We have a full calendar this month, from a few exciting work moments (my birthday, a gala, and co-hosting Cabana in Charleston) to prepping for Thanksgiving and the start of the holidays. I’m sharing my birthday wishlist, what I’m planning for the Thanksgiving table, and a few pieces that feel especially good right now— soft textures, rich colors, and special details.
What We’re Doing
- November is my birthday month, and I’ve been dreaming up a wish list purely for fun—because dreaming is free! A few pieces I’d love to add to my jewelry box:
- The Everything Jewelry Box
- This vintage Chanel brooch has the kind of heirloom appeal I always fall for
- Brent Neale’s Petal Ring—I’ve had my eye on this piece for years and finally got to try it on when she was in Charleston last month
- These Arielle Ratner cabochon studs are on my radar
- A tassel charm I’ve been eyeing to add to my Sherman Fields necklace
- This floral brooch feels so special, like something you’d stumble upon in a hidden antique shop
- And this art deco brooch, which adds a graphic touch to any coat or cashmere layer
- I’m in full Christmas prep mode, which basically means I’m stockpiling wrapping paper, mapping out décor, and keeping a close eye on what’s launching when. We already had our holiday lights installed, which Thomas thought was a little excessive on Nov 4, but I’m ready to get festive! For those asking each year, we have this Balsam Hill faux tree in the 9’ size.
- We have a gala coming up, and I’m torn between a few dress options—each with its own mood. Currently debating:
- This rich burgundy Johanna Ortiz gown (20% off at checkout)
- A soft, sculptural silhouette from Erdem
- This draped kaftan style also by Johanna Ortiz
- And pairing any of the above with these pink satin Saint Laurent heels
- We’re hosting Thanksgiving at our house this year—Thomas is taking over the kitchen (as usual), and I’m in charge of the table. I’m leaning into warm, layered textures with these:
- This week I co-hosted Cabana in Charleston. It was such a treat to meet Martina, the founder of Cabana, and someone who I have long-admired for her taste, aesthetic and world-building with her beautiful brand.
- And lastly: Wicked 2 drops November 21, and I already have it circled. I’ll be watching in full holiday mode with the girls!
What I’m Wearing
November tends to bring out the coziest, richest textures in my closet, and this month is no different. I’m leaning into velvets, soft knits, deep tones, and pieces that work equally well for casual days and upcoming holiday events.
- Leset Bobbi Crop Jacket – A striking color and polished take on an evening jacket.
- Saint Laurent Satin Clutch – One of those pieces you’ll reach for constantly this season. Understated but glamorous in satin.
- Altuzarra Ruffled Chiffon Blouse – I love this styled under blazers or layered with heavier knits. The movement of the fabric adds so much interest.
- Varley Enrico Knit Jacket – A fresh shape in a moody grape tone. Great for travel or layering over activewear.
- Jimmy Choo Eliot Slippers – These have become my indoor staples. I love both the brown croc-embossed leather and the black velvet with tassels.
- Dôen Freya Cardigan in Citrine – A soft, golden hue that adds depth to neutrals. The cut is easy and slightly nostalgic.
- Lake Pajamas Lattice Set – This new lattice set is already in heavy rotation. Classic, comfortable, and great for early gift giving.
- Nour Hammour Sima Shearling Coat – This is the coat I’ll be wearing most this month. The silhouette is sculptural but wearable, and the texture is beautiful. shop here
What I’m Buying
With the holidays on the horizon, I’ve been bookmarking things that strike the balance between practical and special— from gifting to entertaining to a few personal wardrobe additions.
- Julia Amory Mauve Jam Jacket – I’ve been collecting these each season and the mauve hue is so good this month layered over cream or rich brown.
- Cadence Full Discovery Set – I just restocked my set in blush. I love how these streamline my packing and make even the most basic essentials feel elevated.
- Smoky Eyeshadow – I recently added this palette to my holiday beauty lineup.
- Tory Burch Embellished Bag – I love the personality of this bag– it feels vintage.
- My Life in Colors by Martin Brudnizki – I just added this to our coffee table stack. His use of color and pattern is unmatched and so inspiring for interiors.
- Marbled Paper on Etsy – I’ve been buying this marbled wrapping paper on Etsy for a few years now.
- Cabana Sandora Jacket – This feels like wearable decor. I’ll wear it to host or out to dinner with denim and a simple heel.
- Ginori Tea Cup – I have the coffee mugs and teapot of this Ginori pattern, but I have the teacups on my Christmas list.
- Steve Madden Girls’ Clogs – I ordered these for Goldie and Clementine and they’re even cuter in person. A fun seasonal swap for sneakers. Toddler version here.
What I’m Eyeing
This month, I’m craving pieces that feel layered, moody, and a little jewel-box-like. There’s a thread of opulence that keeps catching my eye— velvet, jewel tones, candlelight, a mix of old-world and playful touches.
- Pucci Orchidee Silk Pants – A bold color story with a beautifully tailored fit. I’d wear these with a fitted turtleneck and heels for a holiday dinner.
- Hawkins New York Holiday Decor
- These Stripey Baubles are both nostalgic and graphic — a fun contrast to more traditional ornaments.
- And I love this multi-color star topper for a modern twist on a classic tree detail.
- Maison Flâneur Finds
- This silver plate shell dish is the kind of piece that lives on a vanity or bar cart year-round.
- These woven silver napkin rings are subtly sculptural and would work across so many tablescapes.
- KRB NYC Lamps – This pair of Ming lamps are breathtaking. I’m drawn to the shape and rich color.
- Tiny Gods Satin Finish Diamond Bezel Bracelet – Sleek and wearable, this has been on my list for months. Understated with just enough shine.
- Este Dinnerware from Over the Moon – I’ve been looking to refresh a few pieces in our china cabinet, and this Vecchia Torino set in multi is subtle and a refreshing mix of colors.
- Abbaye des Vaux de Cernay Hotel – I bookmarked this hotel the moment I saw it. The interiors, the setting—it’s like stepping into a storybook.
- Everything Etro Home – Their home collection is one of the most inspiring I’ve seen lately. Here’s what I’ve saved:
