Spring is the time when we begin to bring out light, sheer, soft clothing designed to keep us cool and comfortable. Many of these styles show more skin, which can create some tricky dilemmas when it comes to knowing what to wear underneath them. In the past, I’ve talked about some of the items I’ve worn underneath my clothes for a more opaque and smooth fit, as well as to help eliminate unwanted straps and lines from showing and keep things in place. Today I’m sharing an updated, refreshed list with a few new suggestions to create a flattering “no show” appearance, perfect for spring and summer styles!
When it comes to bras, I prefer ones that look barely there while remaining extremely comfortable. This bra marries comfort and beauty, with sweet polka dot lace and scalloped edging. The soft pink color acts as a nude against my skin tone so I can wear it with pretty much everything, from dresses to t-shirts.
When I’m wearing a dress or top that does not allow for traditional bra straps, or when I want extra coverage under my bra, I reach for these reusable silicone nipple covers. They are easy to stick on, have incredibly thin edges, and are waterproof, so I can even wear them under my swimsuit. I also love this convenient disposable version.
These cotton control shorts are perfect to wear under tighter garments to provide a smooth finish. They’re also useful to wear under sheer dresses, skirts and wide-legged slacks that require a little more coverage. The lightweight cotton makes them more comfortable and a bit less restrictive than traditional shapewear, while still providing the perfect amount of control.
