As you may have noticed if you keep up with my Daily Looks, I’ve been living in shirtdresses with midi or maxi-length hems lately. Whether I want to get dressed up for the office or take a more casual approach with sneakers (as seen in this post), the tailored silhouettes and feminine details of my shirtdress collection have been inspiring me every time I open my closet. This embroidered Carolina Herrera dress, in particular, perfectly exemplifies what I love about this style: it creates a look that is effortlessly elegant, polished, and timeless.

Classic White Shirtdress

This white shirtdress‘ ruffle bib and tiered skirt add a few fun twists to an ever-classic style. Wear it through the rest of winter with tall boots, or into the spring with yellow flats and a floral headband.

Romantic Floral Shirtdress

Short sleeves and linen fabric make this floral shirtdress a perfect option as we head into the warmer months. Accessorize with sandals for an effortless everyday look.

Star-Printed Shirtdress

The whimsical star print makes this otherwise very classic shirtdress both eye-catching and memorable. Pair it with a simple white tennis sneaker for running errands or a heeled sandal on vacation.

Especially as spring approaches, a crisp white shirtdress feels both romantic and relaxed for countless occasions. I’ve styled them in many different ways over the years, but am currently loving them with pop-of-color flats, like my monogrammed green ones by Mansur Gavriel. If you live in a colder climate, note that longer hems prove much more versatile than shorter ones during this in-between season. Simply pair your shirtdress with boots for the next few weeks, before switching to spring-ready flats and sandals.

Beyond white, I’ve been drawn to shirtdresses in colorful florals, stripes, soft blues, and even a stunning patchwork print. The understated silhouette makes it easy to highlight a memorable pattern, without making the look feel too over-the-top. No matter how bold a print may be, these styles still feel classic enough so that I know I’ll love them for years to come.
