Julia – Barbour Helvellyn Quilted Jacket in Olive Herringbone/Classic, Barbour Burne Sweater

Thomas – Powell Quilted Jacket, Tisbury Half Zip Pullover Sweater

Over the past few months, we’ve spent more time at home than ever before. It has been a special season for our family, but now, we’re venturing out a lot more! Our winters in Charleston are thankfully mild, but to enjoy being outside to the fullest, Thomas and I rely on comfortable and practical layers. Whether we’re walking around our neighborhood, taking our bikes for a spin, or, our favorite, strolling the near-empty beaches and piers close to our house, we can usually be found in our Barbour jackets.

I have a handful of casual jackets that I love, but my favorite thing about my Barbour pieces is that they perfectly balance practicality with style. Every piece is thoughtfully designed with details like patterned linings, rolled cuffs, and quilting for an elevated look. The latest addition to my Barbour collection is the Helvellyn Quilted Jacket in Olive Herringbone/Classic, a true Barbour classic. Underneath, I wore this sweater which I almost haven’t taken off since its arrival. Thomas is loving the Powell Quilted Jacket, another quilted piece that is comfortable and durable for the outdoors, but still polished enough to wear around the city. He also paired his jacket with this Tisbury Half Zip Pullover Sweater.

I’ve lost count of how many times I’ve given Barbour pieces as gifts over the years. When I choose one of their items for a loved one, I know that the piece will not only last for years, it will also be cherished and reached for often. What more could you ask for in a gift? While their classic jackets always make a much-appreciated option, I’ve also gifted their beanies, tartan scarves, cozy wraps, vests, and leather gloves, to name just a few. As a special holiday event, five select Nordstrom stores (NYC at both the men’s and women’s stores, Natick, Chicago, and Atlanta) are offering custom embroidery on Barbour pieces. As you can see, Thomas and I took advantage of this opportunity by adding my name to mine and T’s initials to his. Don’t miss this fun opportunity to personalize a gift or your own new Barbour staple, if you’re near one of these cities!

Thank you to Barbour for sponsoring this post.
