Outfit Details:
Gal Meets Glam Collection Lana Coat, Nordstrom Clutch (sold out, similar here), Sam Edelman Pumps
About a month before each Gal Meets Glam Collection photoshoot, we sit down to plan the styling for each and every piece. Will the model wear her hair up or down? What type of shoes would best complement the piece and make sense for where we imagine women will wear it? Simple or statement earrings? Our list of questions goes on until ultimately, we land on the exact combinations that will help us share each dress, coat, and more in the best possible way. Our November shoot was one we had been especially looking forward to, since it was our first opportunity to celebrate the holidays! Hotel Bennett in downtown Charleston made the most perfect, glamorous setting for all of our new sparkly dresses, faux fur-detailed coats, and so much more. No matter what types of celebrations you’re dressing for in the month ahead, we hope you love this peek inside our styling closet at the shoes and accessories we used to help us kick off the holiday season, the Gal Meets Glam Collection way.
Black Loafers
A classic black loafer might be our favorite transitional fall shoe, especially paired with denim or a dress (like our black ribbed Harlow dress, pictured here). It instantly makes any outfit feel more polished.
Crossbody Bag
This thoughtfully designed leather bag has both a top handle and a strap. We opted for the crossbody style when pairing it with our Harlow dress for a chic daytime look.
Bronwyn Coat, Arden Sweater in Ivory
White Pants
Crisp white pants are one of our wardrobe staples all year round—multiple women in our office own this exact cropped pair! We created a monochromatic look by pairing them with our Arden Sweater in Ivory, so that all eyes would be on our plaid Bronwyn coat.
Tan Loafers
We gravitate toward these tan pointed-toe loafers often when giving new pieces a casual, but still elegant, spin. Seen here with the Arden Sweater in Ivory and the Bronwyn coat.
Callista Dress, Reese Coat | Diana Dress, GMG x Nicola Bloom Studs
Nude Strappy Sandal
We can’t think of a more staple piece for occasion dressing than these simple heeled sandals, which pair perfectly with sparkly statement dresses. Here, they complement a fun, all-pink party look: the Callista dress and Reese coat in pink.
Black Strappy Sandal
Another closet staple to have on hand this holiday season, these black strappy sandals make an elegant and flattering finishing touch for any look. We love the way they played up the black straps of our Diana dress.
GMG x Nicola Bloom Stud
For just a touch of sparkle, the Bloom Stud earrings from our collaboration with Nicola Bathie complete any holiday look. Our Diana dress doesn’t need many accessories to make a statement, so these feminine studs felt just right.
Rhiannon Dress, Skylar Dress | Anita Coat
Black Slides
Delicate-looking black suede slides make a chic, but still classic, alternative to standard peep-toe pumps. We styled them here with our Rhiannon mini dress.
Faux Leather Pants
These faux leather pants from BlankNYC look like real leather, while maintaining the flexibility and comfort that comes with a classic skinny jean. We love them paired with our Arden Sweater and Anita coat for a chic night-out look.
Leopard Flats
We will never tire of these calf hair leopard flats from J.Crew! We typically pair them with solid-colored outfits, like this all-black look highlighting the Anita coat, to bring in the perfect pop of pattern.
Padded Headband
Padded headbands add glamour to casual and dressed-up looks alike, so they’ve quickly become one of our go-to hair accessories this season. This black velvet version feels both playful and sophisticated, so we loved the way it looked with our sparkly Farris dress.
Emilia Coat in Valentine | Reese Coat in Pink, Emilia Coat in Valentine, Grace Coat
Pima Cotton Turtleneck
A super-soft turtleneck makes a simple and chic layer to reach for all winter long. This black one from Everlane is our new go-to, especially under a colorful outer layer like our Emilia coat in Valentine.
Black Skinny Jeans
A simple black skinny jean feels both modern and timeless. To dress them up, we styled them with our bold Emilia coat in Valentine and leopard flats.
Black Pumps
Nothing says classic more than a pointed-toe black pump. This elegant pair from Sam Edelman contrasted beautifully with our winter white Grace coat.
Beaded Clutch
We were excited to include a sparkly holiday party accessory in our shoot, and as soon as we saw this clutch from Tuckernuck, we knew it was the one. We incorporated it into many of our looks, but especially loved the way it complemented the Layla dress.
Red Suede Pumps
Is there anything more festive than an all-red holiday outfit? We paired our Layla dress with red suede pumps for a dramatic, yet always classic, monochromatic look.
