Gal Meets Glam Tallulah Dress, Gal Meets Glam x Nicola Bathie Earrings, Tory Burch Sandals (old, similar here and here)
Some of the most cherished and meaningful items in my jewelry box are pearls. I’ve had many of them since I was a little girl, so the stories behind them are even more precious than the pieces themselves. While pearl jewelry will always resonate with my classics-loving heart, I’ve also been drawn to some more creative and whimsical ways pearls are popping up on other items–everything from shoes, to sweaters, to hair accessories. They elevate even the simplest styles and give anything an irresistibly feminine twist.
One of the best things about pearl jewelry is that it fits seamlessly into any occasion, from casual days to evening events. Many of the pearl pieces I’ve found boast that same versatility. For example, I would pair pearl-adorned sweaters like this and this with relaxed denim on the weekend, a faux leather skirt for an evening out, or corduroy pants for a day at the office. For an easy way to wear pearls on a daily basis, I’ve been loving pearl hair accessories, from classic clips to embellished headbands. They also feel so special in subtle touches, like the peekaboo pearls on these heels or the buttons on the cuffs of our Tallulah dress.
To make a grander statement, all-over pearl accessories feel bold and glamorous, while still maintaining their timeless femininity. I’d wear this pearl headband to a holiday party in a heartbeat, especially paired with an elegant one-shoulder dress. Pearl-covered bags, like this, this, and this would make such gorgeous additions to any evening look, adding some extra texture to neutral outfits and taking occasion pieces to the next level. From subtle to statement-making, see more of the pearl pieces I’m loving below!
My love of straw bags is no secret, but it can be hard to find one that feels right for fall and winter. This ring bag from Pamela Munson would work all season long, thanks to its blush leather detail and pearl snap closure.
Pearl Hair Slides
A few weeks ago, I shared a sneak peek of my holiday hair tutorial on Instagram Stories, where I wore these Jennifer Behr hair slides. You can add them to the front of your hair or to the back of a ponytail to create an elegant look for a holiday party or night on the town.
