Few things remind me that fall is around the corner more than seeing the plaids from the runways finally pop up at my favorite retailers. I’ve always been drawn to this classic print this time of year, both in small doses like scarves and handbags and statement-making pieces like blazers and pants. With countless variations on the print, ranging from bold buffalo checks to subtle herringbones, there always seems to be a fresh new way to wear plaid, fall after fall. We had so much fun pairing all different plaids for our August Gal Meets Glam Collection, from the windowpane plaid of Emerson, to the navy-on-navy plaid of Mackenzie, to the classic pastel plaid of Kelly. No matter which version resonates with you most, they all make ideal styles for transitioning into the new season. Pairing plaid pieces with fall staples like loafers, tortoise accessories, and suede booties is a classic and easy way to style them, but I also love experimenting with more unexpected options.
