Gal Meets Glam Dress (more sizes here), Stubbs & Wootton Loafers
One question I receive often is what types of shoes I wear while traveling. I’m not surprised by this question, since the ideal travel shoes can be a bit of a unicorn. They should be easy to slip in and out of at the airport, comfortable enough for walking (or occasionally running) through the terminal, and acceptable to wear for the first activities at your destination if your luggage is delayed. The nature of my trip definitely plays a role in my decision–the shoes I wear for an international trip with layovers are different from the pair I’ll opt for if I’m taking a quick flight to NYC for a day of meetings.
Most often, I reach for classic, feminine sneakers that go just as well with a casual dress as they do with a comfortable travel outfit. While you can’t go wrong with classic white, a colored trim or pattern takes the whole look up a notch. I love the floral of these sweet Supergas and the pink trim of these sneakers from J. Crew. For longer travel days with lots of layovers or overnight flying time, comfort and efficiency are my top priorities, so I often opt for one of my pairs of APL sneakers or Allbirds, which come in all different colors. For a quick direct flight, like our many to NYC and back, I often opt for flats or loafers that can take me from the plane straight to the office. Le Monde Beryl has been a favorite brand of mine for a few years now, and these chic linen loafers are perfect for summer business travel. Find more of my favorite shoes for women on the go below!
Red, White, and Blue Tennis Sneakers
I’ve been wearing these red, white, and blue tennis sneakers by Gola x J. Crew for all of our travels lately, like our trips to NYC and California (seen here and here). I love the way they pair with a wide variety of items in my suitcase, from denim, to a white skirt, to a striped dress.
Floral Tennis Sneakers
I love the fun floral pattern of these Superga Sneakers since they add an extra touch of femininity to this classic sneaker silhouette.
Linen Loafers
For a short flight, a comfortable pair of flats or loafers makes it easy to step right off the plane and into meetings or whatever I’m doing that day. Le Monde Beryl has been a favorite of mine for a few years now and these linen loafers are especially perfect for summer travels.
