Every month, I look forward to seeing which Gal Meets Glam Collection pieces resonate most with our customers. I love seeing which styles are immediate customer favorites. Sometimes, I just know a design is going to be a huge hit with everyone as soon as we finalize the sketch or see the final sample come to life; other times, I’m pleasantly surprised to see a style that felt a little riskier stand out to our community. We do our best to take every ounce of feedback into consideration when designing new pieces, since we want to create garments you’ll truly love wearing for years to come. Especially if we brought specific customer feedback to life in a design, it’s amazing to see that item well-received by all of you!
One of the most important things to me when creating is to make classic styles that feel both timeless and ageless. I absolutely love seeing our dresses and jumpsuits on all ages. Our whole team lights up when we receive personal notes from customers sharing photos or a story about how much their GMG Collection piece meant to them for a special (or even small) occasion.
It’s also so much fun for me to see which styles the people closest to me, like my mom, sisters, grandma, and best friends, love the most. I often predict which pieces they might add to their closets, especially if they pop into my head at some point during the design process (for example, I knew immediately that my sister Lauren would look incredible in our green Elsie dress). Just like with our customers, I’m often right about which their favorites will be, but sometimes, they surprise me too! My mom, who has such effortless, laid-back style, often opts for jumpsuits, and her top pick from May was no exception. She was a big fan of the floral print and polished details from last May’s Darla dress, and this jumpsuit version in a new pink colorway made it even more perfect for her. I love the way the new vintage rose color option looks with her blonde hair! This jumpsuit is also available in blue, like the original Darla dress.
I wore the yellow Arina dress to celebrate Mother’s Day, as a nod to the Imogene maxi I wore to my baby shower. We couldn’t resist interpreting this print (one of my favorites we’ve done) in two different, but equally stunning, ways for our May Collection. The Arina dress (also available in blue) makes the perfect spring cotton sundress, thanks to its fresh color palette and self tie shoulders—I know I’ll be reaching for this one long into summer. (Tip for pregnant ladies: this dress doesn’t have much stretch, so go ahead and size up to make it work for maternity. It it ultra comfortable since the waist is higher and the straps allow for more room to adjust.) Imogene offers a dressier take on the print, with a flowing maxi length, wrap-style top, and short sleeves with tie details, also available in blue here.Â
