A few weekends back, my mom and sisters threw a baby shower for me and the little lady. It was an incredibly special weekend, as so many of our friends and family flew out from all over to join us in Charleston. The afternoon occasion turned into a full-on weekend of activities since we had a packed house full of friends and lots of family coming over to catch up and spend as much quality time as we could get. If there is one thing I know, it’s that this little one sure is loved, and it was a weekend full of that!
My sweet mom did a beautiful job putting together my baby shower, with help from my sisters and some friends, too! It was a citrus-themed party full of roses and treats, and was full of surprises, since they kept me out of the loop. My sister Lauren is a talented artist and painted the invites, menu, and name cards. She also did a custom packaging with Heather Grace Skincare, a body butter and scrub, for guests to take home. The skincare is formulated with the incredible scent of Gracie’s roses from Grace Rose Farm! Gracie, a friend of Thomas and mine, flew out dozens of roses from her California farm to Charleston for the centerpieces, which our friends over at Ohh Events put together (I LOVE them and have used them for so many of our events—my sister’s bridal shower, our holiday home decorations, and a soiree for GMGC on our porch). The shower took place at Cannon Green, and my mom really couldn’t have picked a more perfect place—it’s full of light and character (and out of the heat and humidity of that day).
I can’t thank all of our wonderful friends and family enough for joining us to celebrate Baby B. We’re getting closer and closer to meeting her with each coming week and we can hardly believe we’re now just about 12 weeks away! We were able to capture some of these special moments on film thanks to Hannah Alyssa, a wonderful local Charleston photographer. I can’t wait to share these moments with our daughter someday!
