After the magical dinner we hosted on our front porch for our Gal Meets Glam Collection anniversary weekend guests, my love for entertaining has been completely reinvigorated. I’ve always enjoyed welcoming people into our home, ever since the days when we were squeezing extra chairs around the table at our newlywed apartment in San Francisco. We’ve come a long way since then, but even though we have plenty of space inside our house now, my favorite place to entertain is outdoors. I’ve ended up hosting an al fresco Easter brunch each year since we moved to Charleston (seen here and here) and I’m looking forward to continuing the tradition this year.
While I didn’t originally set out to start this tradition, it happened organically as I searched for the perfect excuses to pull together a feminine, spring-inspired, pastel tablescape year after year. Easter, when all I want to do is spend time with people I love, always feels like the perfect reason to pull out all the stops and throw our doors wide open to our family members and friends. Sometimes, we plan a full, multi-course menu, but we’ve also been known to set out bottles of rosé and a selection of desserts from a bakery. No matter which direction we choose, our loved ones always seem to appreciate the opportunity to simply gather, enjoy some treats, and soak in the spring sunshine on this joyful holiday.
I know one of the biggest roadblocks to entertaining can be sticking to a budget—it’s all too easy to get carried away when shopping for flowers, decor, and delicious food! Whether you’re hosting your own brunch this weekend or planning a spring gathering later in the season, I hope you find plenty of inspiration in the Gal on a Budget-approved pieces I rounded up below. Be encouraged that as long as you make your guests feel welcomed and valued, what you spend on entertaining truly doesn’t matter.
Floral Pitcher
I stock up on vintage-style pitchers like this one throughout the year, whenever I come across one that catches my eye. The ultimate multitasker, they’ve been used at our parties for everything from serving water, to pouring juice for mimosas, to holding flowers as a whimsical centerpiece.
Floral Cupcake Liners
I’m not much of a baker, but that doesn’t stop me from loving these Liberty floral print cupcake liners. Use them on vanilla cupcakes or strawberry muffins and then stack them on a pastel cake stand to add a pop of color to your table.
Gal Meets Glam Collection Petal Dress
Featuring a charming wildflower print, the Petal dress from our April Collection is one of my top Easter dress choices this year. I love the way the playful pattern is balanced by a fit and flare silhouette for a classic and timeless look.
Gal Meets Glam Collection Cara Cardigan
Layer this cardigan over your Easter dress to add a pop of pastel to your look and keep you warm if your celebrations start early in the day. Our sweaters are made for layering over dresses, creating versatile outfits to take you from morning to evening with ease.
