Outfit Details:
Free People Jacket, Theory Turtleneck (old, similar here), Theory Leather Pants, Joie Booties, Senreve Bag
Other than a few outlier days (like a magical snow day in NYC), we hadn’t experienced too much cold weather at home until just recently. It has been fun to start rotating through seasonal jackets and coats that are a bit cozier. A few of my favorites so far this season? Outerwear made of super soft “teddy” material–a nubby faux fur that adds amazing texture to any outfit, and is incredibly comfortable to wear. I brought two teddy jackets on a recent trip to California and lived in both of them–on chilly, gloomy mornings, layering one over my outfit makes leaving a warm house far more enticing!
Based on our two past winters in Charleston, I know I’ll still be wearing these teddy pieces well into the new year as well. Since there’s no easier way to achieve a chic, polished look, I put together this monochromatic outfit that I’m sure I’ll recreate often come January–I always crave simplicity after the holidays are over. The combination of a teddy jacket, leather pants, suede heeled booties, and my newest Senreve bag made for a visually appealing combination of textures, which I love for all of the winter months. For a more casual travel day (seen here), I cozied up in a cream teddy peacoat and wore it with an ivory sweater, cropped white corduroy pants, and white sneakers.
Teddy Jacket
This casual, but incredibly chic, jacket can be dressed down with cropped jeans and a tee, dressed up with a mini dress and boots, and just about anything in between. No matter how you style it, it makes every occasion a little bit cozier.
Teddy Peacoat
The peacoat silhouette adds a little extra polish to this darling coat. I’ve worn it everywhere from the airport (I’m always chilly on planes and it makes me feel like I’m wrapped in a blanket), to the office, to the grocery store on the weekends. I love the way the tortoise buttons pop against the crisp, cream fabric.
