I love London, it’s always been my favorite big city. A few years ago, Thomas and I were contemplating moving there because we loved it so much. While I don’t think that plan is in our cards, we still love to visit as often as possible, especially since two of our favorite people live there! Like I mentioned last week, we shot our July GMG Collection there and couldn’t have gotten luckier with the beautiful sunny, warm weather. For like, a whole week! We kept waiting for the grey, rainy day that would keep us indoors but it never came. The shoot went smoothly and we wrapped after five non-stop days. After the shoot we were initially planning on heading out to the English Countryside but the weather forecast had thunderstorms where we wanted to go, but showed sunshine in London so we decided to stay in the city and soak in some down days.

I mentioned last week that we booked a house for the weekend in Chelsea and got a bunch of emails asking about which one. We actually booked two places during our stay- one apartment in Notting Hill that we stayed in during our shoot (fantastic location!) and another one last minute (because we were going to go stay at Rose’s parents house in the country) that was in Chelsea. We used One Fine Stay for both (no, this is not sponsored or comped), a site we’ve used a handful of times when choosing an apartment over a hotel. All of their properties are insanely gorgeous!

Because we hadn’t initially planned on staying in the city, we didn’t have any big plans, but since the weather was so nice we spent our days outside. I love walking around London, the neighborhoods are so charming and there is always something to see or be inspired by. We spent a lot of time in Notting Hill, Kensington, Chelsea and Primrose Hill as well as Regent’s Park (I love Queen Mary’s Rose Garden), Kensington Palace Gardens, Kew Gardens and Holland Park. Nothing even comes close to the English gardens- they just do them better than anyone else. We missed most of the wisteria but all of the roses were starting to bloom and I promise you, you will never smell anything more wonderful!
