Elizabeth & James Blazer (last seen here), Charter Club Cashmere Turtleneck, Joe’s Jeans, Sam Edelman Boots, Givenchy Bag c/o Luisaviaroma (last seen here)
I did a big closet clean-out recently and it really got me thinking about the main basics I currently have and what pieces I would like to add. Often times, we get so excited about unique or statement pieces and we forget to invest in the ones that actually build up our wardrobes. For me, those are the classic items that never go out of style and are better quality so they’ll last well over time.
Splurging on a great cashmere sweater is always a good idea in my book. You’ll wear it year round and definitely get your money’s worth. I always make sure to buy one in a timeless color like camel, black, grey or cream. I recently picked up this camel cashmere turtleneck here that’s currently on sale for under $80 and comes in a few different styles-Â crew neck, v neck and cardigan.
Three other items I would list in my closet basic’s list are a blazer, distress jeans and flat booties. I last wore this cream Elizabeth & James blazer in this post over an lbd and slipped it over my cashmere sweater yesterday for a coffee run in the early morning. The Joe’s Jeans are also a favorite of mine as I love the unpolished touch they add to an over-polished outfit. These Sam Edelman booties (last seen in this post) have also been one of my favorite pairs of shoes, so much that I also have them in black.
You’ll never regret buying a classic item and the combinations it will always result in . You’ll be surprised how many looks you can create after investing in one great piece. I plan on wearing this turtleneck with the white skirt I wore in this post, with the black coated jeans from this post or the black skirt from this post paired with tights.
Thank you to Macy’s for sponsoring this post.
