Job Summary

Gal Meets Glam is seeking a talented Brand Marketing Director to join our Gal Meets Glam Collection team. Gal Meets Glam Collection is a fashion brand that launched this past spring and is a part of Gal Meets Glam, Inc., a fashion, beauty and lifestyle brand that was started as a blog in 2011 by Julia Engel and now has a readership of over 250,000 with millions of followers all over the world. Each month the Collection introduces a new capsule of classic, feminine dresses inspired by vintage silhouettes for women to wear daily. The Collection is currently sold on the Gal Meets Glam Collection ecommerce site as well as online at Nordstrom and in select stores, and will soon be launching into other major retailers as well. We are very pleased and excited about the Collection and the positive response the dresses and pieces have received. In order to keep the momentum going, we are looking for an exceptional, creative individual to provide direction in the development of fresh content and ideas as our company grows and we expand into new services and product lines.

The position of Brand Marketing Director sits below the CEO and CFO and is responsible for brand, e-commerce and wholesale marketing, translating objectives, goals and initiatives into actionable strategies that enhance and promote the Gal Meets Glam Collection brand, products, experiences, and community.

Responsibilities & Duties

Core Responsibilities:

  • Increase brand loyalty amongst current customers and grow audience of new potential customers
  • Increase brand awareness amongst various retailers, consumers, media and social channels.
  • Lead marketing efforts that drive results for our wonderful and growing list of wholesale partners.
  • Promote high impact and effective speed to market for all campaigns and marketing content.

 

Day to Day Tasks:

  • Develop and implement an effective brand strategy and cross-channel marketing calendar.
  • Manage insights-driven creative and marketing briefs, and lead go-to-market plans for new product launches, campaigns and activations.
  • Identify clear audience strategies to evolve and grow our customer base.
  • Promote clear articulation of brand voice over all customer touchpoints.
  • Create, implement and maintain programs that drive customer loyalty and increased brand trust.
  • Lead strategy & execution of all experiential marketing, including event execution, retail transformation and experiential marketing and activation.
  • Manage direct reports on the marketing team.
  • Other duties as assigned.

 

Additional Tasks:

  • Lead the development of programs to measure the effectiveness of campaigns, brand health, and brand sentiment.

Qualifications & Experience

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business, or similar, relevant field from an accredited college.
  • 3-5 years experience across all brand marketing touchpoints.
  • Experienced in leading external partners and agencies, including skilled and detailed assessment of work, delivering specific and actionable feedback.
  • Specific experience working directly in experiential marketing
  • Demonstrated ability to listen, interpret needs and communicate complex solutions in a simplified, yet creative way.
  • Reliable team player who is willing to get involved at any level in order to meet deadlines and keep the momentum going.
  • Intellectually curious and results-driven, combining consumer focus and creativity with strong analytical skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to grow and manage direct report(s) with diverse skill sets and backgrounds.

 

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master’s Degree in related field or MBA

Additional Requirements and Details

  • Final candidate must reside in or around, or be willing to relocate to Charleston, SC.
  • Position may require ability and availability to travel with team, including possession of or ability to obtain valid U.S. passport upon hire at the employee’s expense.
